What to do before and after a laser hair removal session
Instructions Before a Laser Hair Removal Session
- Avoid waxing or plucking the hair 3–4 weeks before the session (shaving is allowed).
- Shave the treatment area 24 hours before the session.
- Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning sessions for two weeks before the session.
- Stop using exfoliating creams or retinol products before the session.
- Inform your doctor about any medications you take regularly.
- Make sure the treatment area is clean and free of creams or deodorants on the day of the session.
Instructions After a Laser Hair Removal Session
- Use cold compresses or aloe vera gel to soothe the skin when needed.
- Avoid direct sun exposure, saunas, steam baths, and strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
- Do not wax or pluck the hair between sessions; shaving is the only recommended method.
- Use soothing or anti-inflammatory creams as prescribed by your doctor.
- Apply sunscreen regularly to sun-exposed areas throughout the treatment period.
- Note that hair shedding usually begins 10–14 days after the session.
